恒功率电热带每单位长度的热量输出是恒定的，因此电伴热带的输出功率不会随着外部环境、隔热材料和伴热材料的变化而变化，需要与温度控制器和控制箱一起使用。适用于石油、化工、电力、冶金等行业的长输管道和储罐的保温、防冷凝、伴热、防冻、保温。
恒功率电热带的安装非常重要。如果安装不当，可能会损坏伴热带系统。因此，恒功率电伴热带的安装规范如下：
1、在特殊区域使用恒功率电伴热带进行保温时，应远离阀门开口或易燃易爆气体聚集区域
2、恒功率伴热电缆两端的电加热线在安装过程中不得与导电芯线和金属屏蔽层发生碰撞。
3、并联恒功率电伴热电缆是由于多个加热接头在整个长度上并联连接。剪切过程中，必须在加热接头处进行剪切。不允许随意剪切。剪切长度必须超过3米。
4、恒功率电热带与自限电伴热带不同，不能重叠使用。
5、为防止电火花和火灾，所有电伴热电缆连接和电气连接必须密封和防潮。
6、塑料管道不建议使用恒功率电热带。
