电热带安装根据工艺管径的大小，选择直铺或缠绕的方式。其实平铺和缠绕的安装方式是很简单很方便的，这里主要是要说明一下，电热带缠绕方式存在的一个安全安装间距的问题。
自限温类型的电热带，本身功率是随温度变化而改变的，使用不需配备温控限温的特性。并且自限温电热带在安装过程中可以进行随意交叉，重叠来使用（恒功率电伴热带是不可以重叠安装的）。在实际电热带安装的时候，平铺我们就不需要计算间距了，通常使用的伴热带总量为管道长度的1.1-1.2倍，如果有管道、阀门之类的，就需要适当的延长这一长度。在缠绕安装时，我们需要计算间距，间距=管道长度*管道截面周长/伴热带总长。
在给用户计算电热带使用总量的时候，都会给一定的余量，并且保证用户在采购过以后协助用户解决设计安装方面的一系列问题。
